MEET JIM
Jim Huiskamp isn’t a career politician—he’s a coach, a teacher, a father, and a proven leader who’s spent his life showing up for others.
Born in Rock Island and raised in the Quad Cities, Jim built his career on service—from ten years in the classroom working with students of all backgrounds, to twenty years in community banking, where he led Blackhawk Bank & Trust to record growth and stability as President & CEO.
But what matters most to Jim are the people he serves. Whether mentoring kids, organizing during a financial crisis, or volunteering in some of the toughest neighborhoods, he believes in rolling up his sleeves and doing the work.
Jim lives in Davenport with his partner Stephanie and treasures time with his three children—Katherine, Jimmy, and Julia. He’s also a racquetball player, a woodworker, a writer, and a longtime river-watcher who loves calling this city home.
Now, he’s ready to serve Davenport in the way it deserves—by leading with integrity, experience, and heart.
